Homework or NO Homework…that is the question…AGAIN
Every once in a while, there are debates online about whether or not homework is necessary
As a non-parent, but a former student…I would say yes, it is important.
Personally, the amount depends on the age of the child, but it is a good practice in life. Learning to solve problems on your own or using some time at home to spend with parents working on a project, I believe is beneficial. My parents worked a lot when I was growing up, so I can see why some parents don’t believe homework should be assigned, as they do not have time to help their children OR because they want time WITH their kids. This Mom Blogger is saying she doesn’t want the kids to get homework, especially at 6 years old…I say yes…especially when the child is older. I also think it is a great way to reiterate the lesson, and try and do the work when the teacher isn’t right there to answer every single question.
This Mom says that the school has her kid for 6 hours so there shouldn’t be a need for homework plus with 4 kids it is hard for her to take the time to help her child with her homework.
I agree with some of the comments made—elementary students should only have assigned reading, but as I said before–high school kids should be getting homework.
