I am definitely a procrastinator, especially as the day goes on. At work, when the show is done, I struggle to focus because in my head.. “The show is done, so the work is done”. Wrong. Even when we are done the show there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff to take care.
It’s just about taking care of things in an efficient way. For instance, I am sure a lot of tasks we do at work or at home, would only take 2 minutes to (sending emails, checking voicemail, at home…switching laundry over, wash dishes after a meal)
If it will take TWO MINUTES—just do it.
For bigger tasks and goals…use two minutes to START them.
Want to run more — Put shoes on and step out the door (2 minutes)
Want to read more – Read the first page (2 minutes)
Want to eat healthy – Eat a piece of fruit (2 minutes)
Obviously these task are not complete BUT you have started them, and starting is half the battle.
Check out the full article on TIME because I truly found it to make sense.
Mondays are hard—but hey, use 2 minutes to accomplish something and who knows, perhaps the rest of the day will be a piece of cake (well, we can hope)
