More changes to Instagram!
This morning I was scrolling through my photo feed on Insta and I noticed a lot of people posting this…
Yep, it’s true. You won’t be seeing every post from the people you follow.
Instagram is now letting an algorithm decide what’s most relevant to show you, instead of a time-ordered selection from the people you’ve chosen to follow.
The only way your followers will definitely see all your posts in the feed is if they have ‘push notifications’ turned on for your account. But why would anyone want to be notified EVERY SINGLE TIME someone posts a pic? They probably wouldn’t, so most people likely won’t choose to turn notifications on unless they REALLY want to see what someone is posting.
Apparently this change is still in “testing mode”, which means not everyone will have a non-chronological timeline just yet. If it turns out that it doesn’t work effectively, maybe they’ll scrap it? Who knows.
But remember – every time there’s a change to our favourite social media sites, we tend to overreact a tad and hate it at first…but eventually we get used to it and all is good in the world again 🙂
What do you think about the new, non-chronological Instagram timeline??
