Earlier this year, the OPP said the leading cause of deaths on highways was due to distracted driving!!!
And now Ontario is considering putting in signs to direct highway drivers to ‘safe texting zones’ where they are legally allowed to pull over and check emails, texts, or make a call. These signs would let drivers know where the nearest commuter parking lot, transit station or rest stop is. This idea is being considered because increased fines have not been enough to stop people from using their phones while driving.
Do you think signs would work???
