Justin Bieber is getting sued.
Indie musician Casey Dienel (aka White Hinterland) is suing Justin Bieber, Skrillex, and the team of co-writers behind Bieber’s 2015 hit “Sorry”. She’s suing over the fact that Bieber’s song sounds very similar to her own song called “Ring the Bell,” which was released in 2014 as part of her album Baby.
According to TMZ, Dienel’s issue with Bieber’s song “Sorry” is in the “unique characteristics of the female vocal riff” that opens her song “Ring the Bell.”
Here’s where it gets even more interesting – Dienel initially asked Bieber to stop using the sample back in December; but he ignored her, and so now she’s looking for financial compensation and for him to stop playing the song entirely.
You be the judge though, check out the song “Ring the Bell” below.
