Matthew McConaughey and director Gary Ross of “The Hunger Games” are teaching a college course at the University of Texas in Austin this fall on their movie The Free State of Jones. Which is based on a true story, where in 1863, a Mississippi farmer by the name of Newt Knight served as a medic for the Confederate Army. He was opposed to slavery, and help the wounded, rather than fight the Union.
Here’s the bummer…the class will consist of prerecorded videos of the two, although…McConaughey promised at least one class would be taught up close and personal.
And that is the class the we have to sign up for…M’kay!?!?! 😉
