Yesterday was a hard day for me. When I left for work yesterday afternoon, I said goodbye to my girl Laila. I didn’t realize it would be my last time ever saying goodbye to her.
Laila was my 9-year-old Lab/Shepherd dog. We always called her a flower child because she literally NEVER grew out of her puppy stage, and was always just going where the wind would take her!
She was the least graceful, weirdest, sweetest, clumsiest, funniest, prettiest dog EVER! What’s not to love?
It’s so hard losing a dog because they become part of your family. Not to mention, they’re the best creatures on this entire planet, hands down!
Seriously, can you even argue with that?
Dogs don’t care what you look like or how much money you have. They don’t care what colour your skin is or if you have an expensive car or if you’re the captain of the freaken swim team or not.
Dogs don’t talk about you behind your back, or make fun of you, or ditch you for other plans or judge you when you eat a whole cake (I swear I’ve never done that).
They don’t care if you smell bad or look weird or do crazy dances in your living room while singing loudly (I swear I’ve never done that either).
Dogs just want to enjoy life with you! They just want to play and have fun, and eat some treats and be there for you when you’re sad, and let out a loud toot during a serious conversation to make everyone laugh, and make you feel happy every single day!
You could be the biggest jerk on the face of the earth and I bet any dog would still give you a snuggle and make you feel alright.
And that’s why dogs are the best living things EVER!
And that’s also why it’s SO hard to say goodbye when it’s time for them to go.
Bye Laila girl! See ya on the other side, ya big hippie
Thanks for reading my post!
