A new ad for Pepsi featuring model Kendall Jenner has sparked SO much backlash online that the company was forced to pull the ad completely.
In the ad, Jenner is seen posing for a photo shoot while a peace protest marches by. She then ditches the photo shoot, grabs a can of Pepsi and joins the protest. She then hands the can of Pepsi to a police officer who drinks it as the crowd cheers.
The description below the ad on Pepsi’s Global YouTube channel read: “A short film about the moments when we decide to let go, choose to act, follow our passion and nothing holds us back.”

Apparently the ad was an attempt to reach out to millennials, but it received MAJOR criticism on social media prompting Pepsi to pull the ad and release a press release. “Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout.”
The common complaint was that it seemed the ad was making light of a serious and important issue.
