A mother from Georgia was recently arrested after her 12-year-old daughter was seen with a tattoo on the back of her shoulder. According to reports, a teacher noticed the ink at a school dance when the girl was wearing a strapless dress.
The tattoo is a “bluish-green cross with the word ‘Jesus’ above the cross and ‘Loves’ below it.”
In Georgia, it is illegal for a minor to be tattooed, even with parental consent. The tattoo artist as well as the girl’s mom were both arrested and charged with a misdemeanor of being a party of a crime.
Do you think the charge should have been more severe? Do you think children under age 18 should be allowed to get a tattoo if their parents consent to it?
