Looking for fun Halloween movies and TV shows to watch with your kids on Netflix?
While classics like Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” were removed from Netflix Canada last month, there are still some kid-friendly Halloween flicks available to stream.
Here are 7 worth checking out:
1. Hotel Transylvania 1 and 2
In the first movie, Hotel Transylvania owner Dracula pulls double duty as an overprotective dad when an unwelcome suitor shows interest in his teenage daughter.
In the second movie, Hotel Transylvania 2, Dracula looks for proof that his grandson is a vampire and needs to remain in Transylvania.
2. Monster High: Haunted
Hearing that their old school is being haunted, Spectra Vondergeist and her pals head back to Monster High to get to the bottom of the scary spookery. This is a great 1 hour and 15 minute flick to enjoy with your kids.
3. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
This classic from 1982 is a family-friendly movie about a lonely suburban boy befriending a gentle alien. He tries to help it return home while protecting it from government forces that are in pursuit.
4. Power Rangers Samurai: Party Monsters (Halloween Special)
Who doesn’t love Power Rangers!? Mix in some Halloween and you have the ultimate combination! This 23-minute TV episode from the Power Rangers series is from 2011, but is still a great watch with the kids! The creepiest creatures from the Netherworld trade war stories about their battles with the Samurai Power Rangers.
5. Pac’s Scary Halloween
Pac’s Scary Halloween is a 44 minute TV episode you can watch. It was released in 2016. When sinister Dr. Pacenstein schemes to swap bodies with Pac during a Halloween party, Spiral, Cyli and Count Pacula scramble to save their pal. 6. Children’s Favorites: Halloween Treats
This 97-minute Barney movie is Halloween-themed and meant for young children.
Beloved characters teach little ones how to share in the excitement and fun of Halloween in this scare-free collection of shows.
Curious young Coraline unlocks a door in her family’s home and is transported to a universe that strangely resembles her own – only better. Dakota Fanning stars in this 1 hour, 40 minute movie.
While it’s technically categorized as a children’s movie, this one is a bit creepy. The story is based on a book by Neil Gaiman where a young girl entering an alternate dimension where her “Other” parents have black buttons for eyes and want her to stay forever, so be sure to watch the trailer before deciding if you want to watch this one with your kids!
